  1. That doesn't sound right at all. The only time I ever had a ventilate message was when I had a steam built up. At which time I vented the line and it worked fine after that.

Perhaps we should identify if your steam/hot water option is which position? Try it in both to purge the line? I would suggest, if you have to, empty an entire bucket of water to see what it does.

  2. Thanks for the tip. Tried it today - we turn the knob to run the hot water through, a tiny bit comes out, stops, then we get the "close knob" message. That's as far as we get. Any ideas?

  3. Ventilate" simply means that there is an air pocket caught in the system and running water through it can fix the problem. When the ventilate message appears, you will need to run hot water through your steam/hot water wand as if you were going to fill your cup with hot water. If the message does not go away after doing so, you will have to run hot water through your wand continuously into an empty container (emptying one full water reservoir if not more).

  4. Check out "Ask the Experts" at whole latte love.
The most common cause is a blockage somehwhere in the steam line ( the wand, the hose, or even the steam valve. )
Make sure to clean and flush your wand after EVERY use.
I attached a video response to this video -- it is my repair of my Gaggia Titanium, related to a leak.

  5. We've had our machine for just over a month and are now getting the "Ventilate" error message. The book says to press the "Hot water" button (image 26 I think) but this does nothing. When we press the Menu button, it says "Energy Saving" and has a flashing asterix next to it, and under that, it says "Rinsing". It doesn't matter what button we press, nothing happens and we can't fix it. This is our second gaggia machine in 3 months. What are we doing wrong?
