Nespresso is one of the best automatic espresso machines around. They can't beat a semi-auto + a good grinder and operator, but as automatics go, this is a very good machine for the price. I enjoy spending the time and effort in making my espressos, therefore this machine is not for me. But keep in mind, most semi-autos out there use pressurized portafilters anyway which even with the right technique may just be up to par with a nespresso. Semi-autos are no good without a good grinder.
Typical and a laughable response! With that, I can envision you and your dad and why you would not like this. You know what they say...the nut does not fall far from the tree! LOL!
OK, you and your dad may not like it. Just because you say this system is not as good as they appear speaks for only you two. Obviously, others do like it, I for one. If you don't like it, don't use it or drink from it. Simple. There are plenty of involved espresso making videos. Go pollute the comment sections of those area.

I have had real espresso machines, some costing $700. The results are not always consistent and it takes way too much time to make a small cup of espresso. This way is convenient, fast, and very good! Like I said, most people DO NOT want to go to all that bother to try and make an espresso which will probably NOT be to their liking. If you think it is a joke, so be it. Move on...
Again, maybe you are and maybe there are better machines out there, but apparently this produces a quality espresso and very quickly. This is idea for those who do not have the time or interest in the involved process it takes to make one espresso or cappuccino. to categorize it as sub-standard leads one to question how serious you are re espresso. A $40 espresso machine, well maybe, but not this. For you not to see the benefit of this machine speaks volumes about you. Sorry, just my two cents.
percuvius, ruemiser and myself obviously know about good espresso therefore we are expressing our opinions regarding this sub-standard product, also bear in mind my opinion is a well informed one as i have tasted some of the best espresso as wel as nespresso.
I totally disagree with you. I used to live in Italy, and now I own a machine like the one in the video. It makes the best espresso or cappucino outside an italian coffee bar in my opinion. Most of us can't afford a "real espresso machine" that you find in a bar. I'd recommend this machine to anyone.

ReplyDeleteIt does make a good espresso. I tried it at the shop. I tried their strongest blend and it wasn't strong enogh but it was tasty.
