Nuo Espresso-Cappuccino Maker Review Guide

This is to help people in the hunt for a Espresso & Cappuccino Machine. You can see the Nuo in action too and how they should preform. I made this because many reviews were conflicting and made it harder to choose to I took a gamble on a cheaper machine and realised most errors were due to incorrect operation. Also a thanks to the guys who Jam Online at ninjam.com who helped in the creation of the music used in this video. These are the aliases of the Jammers who were in the Live Jam AndyMc (myself), Stephen, josh, psenior, minuto, MUCKL, Storman, Justin_Bieber. The Nuo Machine is Robert Dyers own brand, but other brands shoudl work the same when you know how. If you buy a machine and it does not do what this machine does but is meant to then it is fault or bad design. This machine was only 40 UK pounds and because it was so cheap compared to others but worked so well and took a full size mug, I just wanted to show anyone thinking of buying it how it worked. I am not promoting this machine in anyway, I'm only showing how it works and how others should work, others near the price of this machine could perform just as well or even better. Good luck in your hunt for your espresso & cappuccino machine. You can download "Free Spirits the MP3 of the Full Jam here: reverbnation.com

  1. Sorry for the delay, yt doesn't show clearly someone has replied, I see this from my email. In the book it says about using white vinegar, if you haven't got the manual to hand ill find mine and look for instructions, mine has got to be close to needing doing. I remember it saying after about 80 cups it should be done, I think it was a case of putting white vinegar in the water then run it through, but read the exact info in the manual on it, in case I'm wrong on anything.

  2. Yeah that doesn't sound right. RD are really good too, they normally refund no problems. Sounds like yours was very loud and fact it wouldn't pump the water was probably a faulty pump and most likely why the container vibrated out. I'm gutted ya machine wasn't working, sucks when out of all machines ya end up with a bad one. I tend to have that luck normally and get the one that's not right so if it looks like its been opened or not 100% new I normally just return it.

  3. in the end i took it back, i think maybe mine was faulty but i got a full refund. it got louder and louder, i know coffee machines do make a noise when working but man this thing was so loud i felt like i couldnt use it without disturbing neighbours. it stopped pumping water up and kept vibrating the water pot off >.<

  4. There's some that are good all round but the price of them is ridiculous, this performs like a much more expensive machine and competes with machine sup to £130 quid and even more expensive ones than that. So it's for £29 a good buy cos it does what it's meant too, some reviews I read couldn't froth milk, coffee wasn't hot. In this machine it froths good and coffee is Very Hot. For that I think it's a good price, if it was £130+ I'd maybe not be as happy and want more for my £'s.

  5. Mine has spongy rubber feet which absorb vibration, also has a runner, raised plastic that the container runs over. Maybe when new it could be less friction but never had that prob at all. They have 2 Years Warranty, maybe take it to another RD' store to ensure a machine from another batch, and change for another one? It's cheap but does the job and cleans well, when looking at reviews of minus £130 machines this competes well. If ya pay upto £130 you'd probably not get much better.

  6. They all can be, if no water exist in the machine it will be a bit louder but once its through it's quieter. Some have complained about some being too loud to use when others in bed. I think it has some noise but not that loud, to wake people, this one doesn't seem to be. A good way to tell vol from the video is the background sounds in the kitchen. How you find the machine now? Apparently this is only £29 now . Compared to £130+ plus machines that's good.

  7. Thanks for the info and advice. I do live in a hard water area. Do you descale like with a kettle (put the descaler in and let it run through)? Or do you just descale the steamer? Can't wait to get it now, I love espresso and I've been waiting for a decent priced machine. I'll look up the red packet coffee but I love carte noir so I'm hoping they do espresso too (v tempted by the Costa). Thanks again :-)

  8. Also Tesco do a own brand in red packet, one of cheapest but asda have a good range and lidls you get more for you buck. Costa pots are a bit pricey but taste great.

  9. Cool, I've just ordered one and was happy to see this video. I don't care if it's noisy or if it vibrates, as long as it makes decent espresso I will be very happy. Also it's in the RD sale at £29.99 which is amazing!!

  10. That's a good price.

I will say though but this applies to all, they need de-scaling in hard water area's. I live in a hard water area and if I didn't de-scale I could see the steamer not working as well, but we're very hard water here.
I never had the measuring spoon at the time, it was missing from the box, but they just give me another no problems. It also presses the coffee helping get more coffee out of the coffee. Measures too, 1 spoon does 2 shots or 2 cups.
